the mahan gallery is exhibiting selected work from the artists of die kase hause. the group show includes drawings and paintings by the original four members; jeremiah ketner, david phillips, a. greg raymond, and greg shirilla, and newcomers jeff williams and aaron zimmerman, as well as friends of die kase hause; heather borland, nick butler, mike coleman, sayre gomez, thom lessner, dustin mertz, and brett superstar.
die kase hause, which means “the cheese house” in german, is an avant-garde movement whose purpose is to discover innovative artists and help them receive recognition for their work. the movement was conceived in 1994 by a group of students from the columbus college of art and design. the group has undergone several transformations as some members have moved to different cities for careers and education, and as the group has added may new worthy artists.
