lawrence webber

webber's work is a mixture of both classical and contemporary elements. he uses a process of painting, which is based on techniques of renaissance and baroque masters such as ceninno, cennini and caravaggio. this is important because the process is designed to make a finished product that will withstand time. the pictures are of mostly ordinary objects that he finds to have interesting qualities that he admires and wants to bring out in a highly realistic manner. his work is an outlet for his need to render objects as realistically as possible. he paints from life not photos. in a selection of paintings webber focuses on color relationships and juxtaposition of objects. it is very important for him to have a finished product that conveys what he find beautiful about the objects represented.

lawrence webber, originally from cleveland is a recent ccad graduate. he currently resides in new york city and attends pratt for graduate school.
